Community service programs

Healthy Babies Growth Monitoring (1990-present)

This program is managed by Upavimas who work voluntarily every Thursday afternoon. They weigh the children from 10 days to 5 years, keeping track of their weight on a growth chart. They discuss with the mother each child's progress and whatever problem that may arise. If necessary, the child is referred to the doctor. Each child is monitored through a card on which is recorded their weight, date of their next visit, and their vaccination record. This program contributes to the prevention and immunization of sicknesses in children, and also contributes to the formation of good habits in the parents with respect to proper diet and prevention of illnesses.

Our Needs:

  • Financial support for the maintenance of the program, as this service does not generate any income. It is offered to the parents for free.
