The UPAVIM Community Development Foundation is a U.S. based 501(c)3 non-profit corporation that was established in January 2004 due to the initiative of board members who are long time supporters of UPAVIM in La Esperanza, Guatemala.  Donations for UPAVIM's work will now go to the UPAVIM Foundation at the following address:

The establishment of the UPAVIM Foundation increases the possibilities for giving to UPAVIM, as donors can now choose to contribute to an endowment which will continue to generate interest for UPAVIM's programs, while the principal remains intact to give UPAVIM future financial stability. 

The UPAVIM foundation is also pursuing  will also be development grants on behalf of UPAVIM and offering technical support on the ongoing projects. Our initial projects include Construction of Phase 3 and Phase 4 of the Annex and establishing a soy milk production facility.

MISSION STATEMENT


The UPAVIM Community Development Foundation seeks to provide fund-raising, fiscal, organizational, and logistical support to organizations in the United States and around the world that are focused on promoting community-led development among impoverished people in Central and South America. Inspired by the work of UPAVIM, a women's non-profit association in Guatemala City whose name is a Spanish acronym for "Unidas Para Vivir Mejor", or, "United to Live Better", the Foundation is focused on assisting grass-roots organizations that provide financial, medical, educational and other charitable support for people living in marginalized and impoverished communities in Central and South America.
